Scroll Word Exporter 5.3

August 2021

We are happy to announce the release of Scroll Word Exporter 5.3 which is an improvement and bug fix release.

This new minor version introduces export support for the new upcoming extension app, Variants for Scroll Documents. Additionally, we have fixed a number of bugs including the issue affecting links that referenced their containing page not being resolved correctly in the export. Furthermore, this new update contains important changes for migrating legacy templates (v3) to the current template format.

Important update changes

In Scroll Word Exporter v5.0 we implemented an automatic tool that migrated legacy templates (templates that were created in Scroll Office v3.x) to the current supported format. This tool automatically migrated legacy templates, without any user-interaction, after updating from a version of the app that still allowed the use of these legacy templates.

In this release, Scroll Word Exporter v5.3, this automatic migration tool has now been removed. This means that users of legacy templates (deprecated) in either Scroll Office v3.x and/or Scroll Word Exporter v4.x that are planning to update to Scroll Word Exporter v5, will first need to update to Scroll Word Exporter v5.2 for their legacy templates to be automatically migrated. Following this it will then be possible to continue the update to the latest app version.
