Scroll Viewport Cloud 2022-05-31

We are pleased to announce the release of Scroll Viewport 2022-05-31 which is an improvement release. With this release comes a new format for your help center’s URLs.

We now also allow for Vimeo and Youtube video embedding even when the embed is domain restricted (if the Viewport site is part of the allow list).

Read on to learn how your URLs will change the next time you update your Scroll Viewport help center.

🔗 Your Help Center’s URLs Will Change

When you publish your Confluence Cloud content using Scroll Viewport, each Confluence page is mirrored on your help center as an article page with its own unique URL.

With this latest release, all article page URLs on your help center will be updated to this new, easily customizable format: yoursite.scrollhelp.site/content-source/page-title

Animation shows how the new format omits the last part of the Viewport URL

The previous format included a page-ID reference and ‘.html’ at the end of each article page URL: yoursite.scrollhelp.site/content-source/page-title.123456789.html. This has now been removed from all Scroll Viewport URLs.

Your help center’s URLs will automatically update the next time you regenerate your site.

Redirects have been automatically set up for all of your your old links so they will continue to work.

Your Help Center’s New URLs

Your help center’s article page URLs are now:

  • Simplified – The neater format is easier to read.

  • More stable – Define page URLs that won’t change each time your page title does.

  • SEO-friendly – Much better-optimized for search engines (if your site is public).

Customizing Your URLs

Give your new URLs some love by customizing the individual segments further.

Customized URLs look professional, are easier to read and are better for sharing. Not to mention, you’ll always have full control over them.
