Scroll Viewport Cloud 2021-11-11

We are pleased to announce the release of Scroll Viewport 2021-11-11 which is a feature, improvement and bug fix release.

In this release we introduce a new option to restrict your Viewport help center. We also now let you embed Loom video directly to your help center articles.

Highlights

Bring the Magic of Single Sign-On to Your Help Center

Restrict your Scroll Viewport for Confluence help center site

With this latest release, you now have the ability to restrict your Scroll Viewport for Confluence help center site(s). This is possible through third-party identity providers that support SAML 2.0 authentication.

Restricting Your Help Center With a Single Sign-On

When you restrict your Scroll Viewport help center using a single sign-on, your customers can seamlessly access your help center once they're logged into one of your other systems – just like magic!

Choosing to restrict your help center with a single sign-on has many benefits for your team and your customers:

  • Manage who sees your content: Who gets to see your published Confluence documentation? The decision is all yours.

  • Smooth experience for end-users: Your customers only need to sign in once to access your various systems. Your customers will be able to access your help center quickly and easily and won't need to remember separate login credentials for it!

  • Security and peace of mind: A single point of authentication happens via a secure, third-party identity provider (IdP) who receive your customers' identity information. The IdP handles all the credentials so you don't have to maintain them.

How It Works

Want to know how it works? Here's a breakdown of the process:

  1. Customer logs into one of your systems with a single sign-on.

  2. Customer tries to access your help center.

  3. Scroll Viewport checks customer's credentials with third-party identity provider.

  4. Identity provider sends authorization message back to Scroll Viewport.

  5. Your customer now has access to your restricted Scroll Viewport help center.

Embed Instructional Videos From Loom

Videos are a great way to enhance your help content. So far, you were able to embed videos from various platforms via the Confluence widget connector macro.

We've now extended your options and make it very easy for you to embed videos from Loom directly in your help articles. Simply copy your share link from Loom, paste it into your Confluence page and select the link option ‘Embed’.

Next time you update your site, your video will be all ready for your users to play and watch - right from your help center.

New to Loom? Loom is a tool for teams to quickly create videos of their screen and camera. Avoid going through tedious post-editing and file uploading processes. Once recorded, Loom videos are instantly available for your team and anyone else to watch.
