Customize Header, Footer, and Favicon

The header, footer and favicon are part of the global templates and visible on every page within a site. This section shows what these templates look like and what elements can be customized.

Learn how to interact with the template settings in the theme editor to change the elements listed below under the sections ‘Settings within the theme editor’.

Please refer to our recommended image dimensions when uploading custom images.

Header

The header is shown at the top of every page. Use the provided styling options to brand your site and customize the navigation experience for your site visitors.

By default, the site logo used for your help center will be the space logo or document cover image of the first content source (space or Scroll Document) that you select. This works well if you are only using one content source.

If using more than one content source we recommend to replace the Logo with a custom image.

Settings within the theme editor

  • Logo: Select a logo from the asset library. By default, the logo is picked up from your content source (space logo or Scroll Document cover image).

  • Background color: Select a color for the top navigation bar.

  • Text color: Select a color for text in the navigation bar.

  • Links: Add navigation links to the top navigation bar.

  • Site name: If checked, the name of the current content source (space or Scroll Documents) appears next to the logo. On the portal page, the site name is shown (as set at site creation).

Setting within Confluence

  • Site name: If you check ‘site name’, the title shown next to the logo is the name of your content source (space name or Scroll Document title). It can only be changed if you change the name of your space or title of your Scroll Document in Confluence.

The footer is shown at the bottom of every page. Use the provided styling options to brand your site and customize the navigation experience for your site visitors.

Settings within the theme editor

  • Logo: Select a logo from the asset library.

  • Background color: Select a background color for the footer.

  • Text color: Select a color for the text in the footer.

  • Links: Add navigation links to the footer.

  • Copyright: Input custom text for the copyright line.

Favicon

Add a favicon for your help center so users can easily recognize it in their browser. A favicon is typically displayed in the browser's address bar or in bookmark lists (next to the website name).

Expand the Header section in the theme editor to reveal the Favicon upload field. Click Select Image to upload your image to the asset library.
