Copy a Document
You can create a copy of a document in the same space or in another space and begin working from the copy.
Create a Copy
From the Document Library, click the actions menu ••• on a document and select Copy. The Copy document dialog displays.
Step 1: Select a location
Pick a location for your copy by selecting the Confluence Space and then the Parent page.
Click Next.
Step 2: Name your document
By default, the title of the document is “Copy of” then the title of the document parent page. You can also give your document a unique name.
By default, the document prefix is “Copy of”, which all page titles of the document will inherit. You can also choose to customize the prefix. When you customize the prefix, you'll see a dynamic preview of the copy's new title in the dialog.
Optionally, if you choose to set custom restrictions:
Click Next.
Set the desired restrictions.
Click Copy.
The new copy appears in the Overview of the space you selected.
Copy and Replace an Existing Document
If you're copying a document to another space where a copy of the same root document already exists, you'll have the option to replace the existing document. This approach is useful for teams who use the copy functionality as a method of publishing their finalized document to a public space to be accessed by their users or team.
You can maintain a private Confluence space where you draft documents and publish them to a public space when they're ready for release. Learn how to create a public documentation library with Scroll Documents
