Track Translations

To track the translation status of your pages in Scroll Documents, you can use the Filter by label macro (formerly known as “Content by Label”). If you enter the label NEEDS-TRANSLATING the macro can help you provide a list of pages that require translation before publishing.

To fully benefit from the translation features, we recommend using Scroll Documents together with its extension app, Translations for Scroll Documents. To learn more about this, refer to the following resources:

Create a Tracking Page

To effectively track pages that require translation, we suggest creating a dedicated tracking page. You can set up one page with the Filter by label macro or create multiple pages, each corresponding to a different language. Here are some suggested locations for the tracking page:

  • In the author space, on a page outside of your document's page tree.

  • In the author space, on the "Versions of…" page.

  • In a separate space.

How to Track Pages that Need Translation

To set up a tracking page for pages requiring translation, follow the steps below:

  1. Choose or create a suitable page where you can monitor your translations.
(tick) Tips: If you don’t want the report to be published with your document, consider using a page which is not a part of your Scroll Documents page tree.

  2. Open the Confluence editor.

  3. Insert the Filter by label macro.

  4. In the Label” field add the label NEEDS-TRANSLATING to list all pages which requires translation.

  5. Click Add a filter.

  6. Search for the filter “Space(s)” and define which space/s you want to take the data from.
(tick) Tips: If you need to filter for a specific language and version, you can use the "With title" filter. Add the version and language prefix of the desired pages, such as (V1-fr) for French or (V1-de) for German. This will help you narrow down the results and focus on the relevant content.

  7. Click Save to close the macro dialog.

  8. Save the page.

If you decide to keep the tracking page within the same space or page tree as your Scroll Document, and you wish to ensure that the report is not exported with Scroll Exporters or published to Scroll Viewport, place the Filter by label macro within a Scroll Ignore macro. For more information see:
