Can I Branch Versions with Scroll Documents?

Is It Possible To Work With Branches in Scroll Documents?

Scroll Documents does not have native support for branches in the traditional sense. However, there is a workaround you can use to achieve a similar workflow.

How Can I Create a New Version (Branch) Based on a Previous Version?

To create a new version based on a previous version, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Document Manager for the document in question.

  2. Click Save a version to create a new version.

  3. In the save dialog, go to the Advanced tab.

  4. Select the desired previous version from the Based on version drop-down menu.

  5. Click Save.

Can I Merge Changes From One Version Into Another?

Scroll Documents does not currently have a built-in merge functionality. However, you can manually incorporate changes from one version into another using the comparison dialog.

How Can I Merge Changes From One Version Into Another Version?

Follow these steps to bring changes from one version into another document:

  1. Open both versions side by side in in different tabs or windows.

  2. In a separate tab/window, open the Compare versions dialog to visualize the differences between the two versions.

  3. Manually copy and apply the desired changes from one version to the other.

  4. Once complete, you can choose to delete the branch version.

Please note that this process requires manual effort, but it allows you to incorporate changes from one version into another document.
