Backbone Issue Sync 5.2.0

January 2022

The Backbone team is pleased to introduce Backbone Issue Sync 5.2.0

This release comes with a new feature to also use personal access tokens for authentication and bug fixes.

Use Personal Access Tokens

From Jira 8.14 on (DC/Server), it is possible to also create Personal Access Tokens (PATs) for any user. With this release, you are now able to also use the created PATs for the synchronization user. To do so, you can set the switch for PATs in the create a new synchronization dialog and instead of giving the password, you enter the PAT.

(info) Note: this feature is only available for Jira Server/Data Center version 8.17 due to a Jira bug that affected the previous versions

Important Note: Sync Info Panel

We've changed how we store the sync info panel to make it possible to search for Backbone attributes (Cloud only at the moment). This means that when the side who configured the synchronization is updated to this version (5.2.0) or above, the sync info panel information won't show anymore for the side if they are on a version below 5.2.0. To make it work again, this side would also need to update Backbone.
