Backbone Issue Sync 4.2.1
August 2020
The Backbone team is pleased to introduce Backbone Issue Sync 4.2.1. This release introduces Java 11 compatibility as well as fixing some bug regarding our behind the firewall (distributed) scenario.
Java 11 compatibility
This release introduces compatibility with Java 11. Our Support and Engineering teams use mainly AdoptOpenJDK to check for Java 11 compatibility and replicate any issues raised.
Compatibility with Oracle JDK has been verified as well.
Note for Customers using the behind the firewall (distributed) configuration
This release fixes a bug where Backbone was unable to send messages for behind the firewall customers using Jira 8.5 and higher. If you're using the behind the firewall configuration, please make sure that you're using the matching Backbone version for your Jira version.
- If you're on a Jira version before 8.5, use the version xxx-pre85, e.g. 4.2.1-pre85. If you're using a later version, make sure you use the latest patch release of Jira and use the usual Backbone 4.2.1 version. Atlassian's UPM should guide you in choosing the correct version matching your Jira version.
- If you're on a Jira version 8.5 and higher and don't use the latest patch version, you may still need the 4.2.1-pre85 version. Please check the table below for more details on which version to use:
Jira Version | Backbone Version |
---|---|
8.4.x and below | 4.2.1-pre8.5 |
8.5.0 - 8.5.3, 8.6.0, 8.6.1, 8.7.0, 8.7.1 | 4.2.1-pre8.5 |
8.5.4, 8.6.2, 8.7.2 (and higher patch version) | 4.2.1 |
8.8.0 and higher | 4.2.1 |
