Synchronize sprints

Use the Sprint field mapping to synchronize sprints across instances.

Sprint synchronization behavior

  • Sprint synchronization only works between instances that both have sprints with the same name – for example, your Sprint A can only be synchronized with a sprint with name Sprint A in the partner instance. If one synchronization partner tries to synchronize a sprint with an instance without a sprint with the same name, the synchronization won't work. To avoid this, select Create missing sprints in the field mapping configuration to automatically create a sprint with the same name in the partner instance when the synchronization is initialized.
  • You can configure which board you want the sprint to be added to by using the Board dropdown in the field mapping configuration.
  • When a sprint is created by Backbone, its start and end dates are set to the corresponding values of the partner instance.
  • A sprint is only synchronized if there are issues in the sprint which are being synchronized with Backbone.

Please note that sprints are only created at the moment. Later changes to them won't be synchronized. If you're interested in this, please vote for BAC-886
