Can I synchronize an instance without installing Backbone?

Question

I want to synchronize two Jira instances using Backbone, but only want to install Backbone on one instance. Is it possible?

Answer

Yes! You can do this using something called a 'remote license'. Remote licenses let you install Backbone on one Jira only, then synchronize with other Jira instances that don't have Backbone installed.

For a complete guide on how to get and use a remote license, see the Backbone licensing article.
